A low-res, flatbed scan of a 6x7 (2 1/4 x 2 3/4 inch) transparency
Any further and you're in the drink.
This day/night marks one year of being on Flickr for me. For anyone that either has an extremely good memory or has checked my first upload and seen that it says May, well, there's a reason. For the first few months, I had no scanner to digitize my images, so I just got used to supporting my contacts and enjoying their work. Well, the day had to come that I would also want to hear what people thought about my own work, so I coughed up the 150 bucks for a entry-level Epson scanner and that was that. Man, I'm cheap.
Since then, I have had many contacts and friends come and go and that reminds me of the way I would get used to seeing classmates in art school and then having to part ways when the semester of year was over. Some of those people were really good photographers that eat, breathe, and sleep photography, again, just like on Flickr. I really miss seeing people's work by viewing hung prints at a critique. How about we rent the Cow Palace (huge building used for fairs, rodeos, convention, etc.) and have a massive Flickr member showing! Oh, well I guess that is a little impractical.
Thanks for a wonderful year of sharing imagery, ideas, and opinions. The support has been most appreciated. Here's to the next trip around the sun!
This is a wide view from the night MattyD90 and I went way down under to photograph the San Francisco Bay Bridge, city, and bay, itself. Notice how even a slight breeze dulls the reflections that calm water makes. Thanks for having a look!
