Train of Lights

Please have a look at the Large size.

What do you title an image like this? I heard that bats... (Bob), haha. Anyway, you could name it "Spectragraph" or "Color Shift" or "the "Christmas Cannonball" or something like that, but this is the Train of Lights, so that's what I called it.

I have enjoyed my visits seeing this old train rumble through Niles Canyon near Fremont, Ca. It reminds me of the train in Santa Cruz or the Skunk Train a little---all a good time.

This train has the most lights, though. No doubt about that. Even in this very dark canyon, you could see that the candlepower it emitted against the trees and hillside was rather impressive. I think that is due to the high number of individual bulbs.

Anyhow, my trips down there weren't purely enjoyable because, the first day, I took most of a roll (10 exposures) with the lens cap on. Haha. It was a nice rookie move that provided, really effectively, that humbling sense of unmitigated chagrin that we have all felt. At least,... I think we have. But, another day, another train of lights. I came back with my wife and newborn son, as well as friends MattyD90 and flopper, who have links to the right. We had a somewhat hectic but fun time. I know Matt took a nice shot from the road below, so I will be watching for that.

I hope you enjoyed seeing these as much as I did taking them. Merry Christmas Train of Lights! I highly recommend the train ride to anyone. Even though I haven't yet taken the trip, I feel, due to seeing it go by about 20 times a few feet from me, like a virtual passenger or something. Haha.

Thanks for having a look!
