Sunrise at Lake Sabrina
I had been waiting for the right moment to head out to the Eastern Sierra this year. Timing for the perfect fall foliage doesn’t necessarily work out for the best result, but since I couldn’t just take off at any time, I had been rather watching the reports closely.
But it appeared that the right moment had arrived as the past weekend approached. And I was able to leave in the Friday afternoon. However, there were quite a few highway (I-5 and SR-14) closures due to the ongoing wildfire, which delayed my drive for at least an hour before reaching Bishop. Oh, boy, it was quite cold in Bishop.
I had my eye on Lake Sabrina for quite some time, and my plan was to hike to Blue Lake from there. The colors were exploding all around Bishop, along the road to and around Lake Sabrina. Literally it was Aspen heaven.
It was quite popular for fishers just like at South Lake last time when I was there. But unlike at South Lake quite a few photographers were snapping photos.
Once done, I grabbed my daypack with my camera gear and headed up Lake Sabrina Trail.
