My new toy - just from the workshop:
A 4x5 / 6x12 (multiformat) point and shoot wideangle camera. It is a fixfocus camera set to hyperfocal distance.
I built a "lightweight" alternative to my Wista 45N for handheld photography: 1880g ready to shoot including lens and 6x12 rollfilm back.
The following components were used:
Lens:
It all started with a "found" Schneider Kreuznach Angulon f/6.8 65mm from 1954...
Inspired by this camera using the same lens I decided to build my own:
www.flickr.com/photos/66795355@N00/442229676.
Shutter:
Copal #00 size (new old stock).
Lensboard:
Shen Hao recessed #0 lensboard with DIY adapter to accomodate a #00 size shutter. This way I can also use the lens ass'y with my Wista 45N.
Camera body:
Wooden plant pot from the famous Swedish furniture house. The original idea is described here: www.flickr.com/photos/jonespointfilm/2702304110/
and here: www.flickr.com/photos/ikeahacker/271070101/
Thanks!
Lens protectors:
Drawer handles from the same source.
Anatomical Grip:
A piece of wood from a hazelnut tree in my garden fitted to a door handle from the local hardware supply.
4x5 Graflock back:
Taken from a broken down Polaroid 454 Miniportrait www.flickr.com/photos/ricohmatic/1253517861/ camera.
Rollfilm holder:
Da Yi / Focus 6x12
Spirit levels:
From the local hardware store.
Accessory shoe:
Taken from the same Polaroid 454 Miniportrait camera.
Viewfinder:
DIY finder based on a door peephole put inside the viewfinder housing from a Polaroid Miniportrait camera. The finder mask is calibrated to my 6x12 rollfilm holder.
