say goodbye and send me off with a kiss farewell
so.
I'm certain there are some cliches here: selfie, black and white, textures, and of course, digging through the archives.
and I would imagine the sentiment is cliche too: melancholy mixed with tears.
tomorrow my oldest daughter turns 18. 18!!!!!
and the day after that we pack up the car bound for college.
all those cliche phrases come to mind:
where did the time go?
they grow up before you know it.
it goes by in the blink of an eye.
wasn't it just yesterday they were little?
you get the idea.
feel free to add any I may have left out.
I was motoring on quite well (sort of), until about yesterday.
but not so much anymore.
and it might be helpful if she would start packing.
but she seems to be in a bit of denial herself.
that this is really happening.
and I have no doubt that once she does pack I will be missing my favorite clothes.
she plans on stealing them.
I know it.
she's admitted as much.
I heard her going through my drawers last night.
the familiar sound made me smile.
I think I'll just let her get away with it.
this one time.
HCS!
