I will run to you, down whatever road you choose, I will follow you down, I will run to you

a walk to nowhere, the children chatter and laugh and sing, the dogs romp and roll in the muck, the sun is shining and a summer breeze gently blows.

every summer we make the trip to our favorite place, our family place, and every summer we promise to return again. but this trip was tinged with a bitter sweetness of knowing that we most likely will not go back. next summer will be the "summer before college" and our priority will be freshman orientation and packing and time may not be on our side.

hanging on the precipice of change, as the safe little cocoon unravels, I might wish to hold tight, but instead I know it's time to let go.
