T6 - Carlingford line

The Carlingford heavy rail between Clyde and Carlingford is be closed on January 5, 2020 and converted to the Parramatta Light Rail by 2023.

This is one occasion where closing a rail line and converting it to Light rail may be of benefit. It will allow commuters access to Parramatta and Westmead for the first time without changing at Clyde with the wastage of time involved in changing trains.

Also it is the least patronage line of the Sydney network.
