Australian convict - world heritage site
In July 2010, 11 Australian convict sites were included on the UNESCO World heritage register.
They are:
1.) Great North Road (Devine Hill and Finchs Line) built by convict labour between 1825 and 1836.
2.) Hyde Park Barracks completed in 1819 and designed by Francis Greenway.
3.) Old Government House, Parramatta
4.) Fremantle Prison
5.) Cascade Female Factory
6.) Port Arthur and the Coal Mine Historical Site
7.) Darlington, Maria Island
8.) Woolmer Farm
9.) Brickendon Farm
10.) Cockatoo Island and
11.) Norfolk Island
and we have visited all 11 sites.
