Grave - Private Reginald Roy Sanders N210135 Australian Army
This was the original grave of Private Reginald Roy Sanders (my Great Uncle) killed in a training exercise at Moora, Western Australia in March 1943 serving with the 4 Australian Infantry Battalion. Fourteen other soldiers from his unit were also killed from this mortar expolsion.
Many Australians from the eastern states of Australia, first served in Western Australia, when the threat of a Japanese invasion was considered a real possibility, before being moved onto PNG.
His grave was later moved to the Perth War Cemetery.
