Newcastle Railway Station - 2008

A view of Newcastle Railway Station taken from the observation tower at Queens Street Wharf. A V-set interurban is also on view. The old railyards used to veer to the left of this scene were the NSW Government buses can be seen.

Update 2013 - it seems the current NSW Government is determined to terminate this line at Wickham and end over 150 years of rail service to Newcastle city.

Update 2 - October 2015 - it now seems that our current state government has succeeded in getting this line closed.

Now replaced by the Newcastle light rail scheme.
