The US Army Small Ships Section was unique in being a US Army group mainly staffed by Australian personal during World War 2.
The Grace Building was the headquarters from May 1942 To the end of the war in 1945.
It served to mainly ferried goods and men in areas larger ships could not serve. Its main action was Buna, PNG in January 1943.
