Lot's Wife looking back

Fire is irreversible. Ashes and cinders can never return to trees or paper. Destruction frequently perpetuates a similar permanence. This piece depicts the events of Genesis 19:26, of Lot's wife's disobedience. Against God's instruction and warning, she turns and looks back to Sodom and Gomorrah, causing her transformation into pillar of salt. The dichotomy of the separate wood blocks represents the brokenness between man and God after the Fall.
