Thorney-Abbey, near Peterborough.
Wonderful day today, involving a 160-mile drive across East Anglia, to deliver my Balik-Bayan-Box -- containing lots of useful equipment for up-grading the beautiful timber house which Gladys and I have bought in the mountains of Butuan !!
The box will soon be on its way, BY SEA -- and will hopefully arrive at the same time as I do !!
I had an hour to spare, before my appointment with Lyn, the shipping-agent . . . so i called in at Thorney Abbey, about half way to Stretton -- and did a photo-shoot at this wonderful mediaeval monastic site -- which i had not visited for several years !
The West Front was designed to impress ! . . . and it certainly does that -- with twin 90-ft. high corner-turrets ( in the absence of a West Tower ) giving the impression that the building behind them is even bigger than it really is !
