Too Close - 16.4: Destruction of Vandos Prime
„Go, go, go!“, I screamed at Koi as we climbed out of the impromptu exit of the facility, which he had blasted into the rock. The timers were set to 15 minutes and we had to get the shab out of there. Outside we were greeted by heavy blaster fire. The last remaining Vandosians had set up their snipers and E-webs amidst the debris on the battlefield. They weren’t even trying to hit us, but aimed for the smaller Kyber crystal formations, causing dangerous explosions, whenever they hit them. This was worse than a minefield. We sprinted along wrecks of LAATs, trying to keep our heads down as much as possible. „Looks like we get to see a firework after all!“ Koi laughed, but I could hear the strained undertone in his voice. Bang! Something like a hammer hit my chest. Gasping for breath, I was hurled backwards and landed flat on my back. This was it. I expected the pain any second now. „Get up, Sir! No time for a nap!“. Koi brought me to my feet. I checked my armor status and it was still sealed and intact. Then I registered the smoking crater just a meter in front of me and the smoking surface layer of my breast plate, which had been melted by the hot shrapnel. „Haar’chak! The paint is ruined!" „With all due respect, get the shab going, Sir!“ Koi pushed me. Another blaster round missed my helmet by mere centimeters to prove his point. „Right, let’s go!“ We sprinted on. As we approached the rendezvous point, still under heavy fire, the LAAT waiting for us looked more beautiful than ever before to me.

My entry for the final part of mission 16. A rather quick build, but a fun one nonetheless. I definitely enjoy building action sequences like this!
