Happy Birthday Mr. Grievous!
Good evening and welcome, Ladies and Gentlemen to the annual Authors Club Book Prize gala!
I am Ordo and I’ll be your host for tonight. As you know the Authors Club Book Prize is one of the most important prizes for young authors all over the world and will surely boost the career of anyone winning it. And today’s the day once more. Tonight we will announce the winner of this year’s book prize and it is my proud duty to do this. I know you all are eager to know, who the winner is and even more eager to get your hands on the champagne and canapés at the after show party, once we are done here. I for myself am more curious about the assortment of sushis and sake, though. But before we get straight to it, let me tell you about the little dilemma I had when being asked to host this show today. Of course I was honored by the request and immediately accepted it. When preparing for the show though, I noticed that I was already hosting another event on this particular day. An event in fact, that I host every year and never would dare to cancel. I am, of course, talking about my good friend Mr. Grievous’ birthday party. Surprise birthday party, actually, since, even now that it has become a reoccurring ritual, he tends to be very surprised every time and never expects it. So, when I finally knew the date, I almost turned down the offer. Then however, mere seconds, before I signed the handwritten letter I wanted to send to cancel, I got a phone call. On the other end of the line was the head of the jury for this year’s Authors Club Book Prize, whose name I really can’t remember for some reason. He told me who would be the winner today and after learning who it should be I simply couldn’t resist coming here tonight. And guess what, I even met Mr. Grievous here! On his birthday! Can you believe that?
But after all, he certainly has very much of a reason to be here today. Oh yes he has!
I hope you forgive me for not hosting you a party this year and not having a good present for you, my friend. And I sincerely hope, you accept this prize as a compensation! You are the winner of the Authors Club Book Prize!

You all may be wondering, why I have not built something more party related this year for Mr. Grievous birthday and also why in the world he is getting a book prize here. Well, I think I may give you as much of an insight as that he certainly has a talent for writing and would definitely deserve such a prize in real life. But he may tell you all about this himself, if he likes to. For now, let’s just wish him a happy birthday!
