Three Sacred Monkeys [ Explored}
Sacred Monkey Forest on Bali is truly a magical and spiritual place. It has been set aside as a place where these monkeys can play and roam free. There are stone Hindu monkey gods and huge boulders like this one among the lush green jungle plants.
It is only a few steps away from the bustling city of Ubud, but once inside of the lovely grounds, one is taken back the era of a less developed Asia.
This is one of my favorite places in the world and I was astonished to read that a tourist thought it was one of the most dangerous. By her account, her children were tormenting the monkeys and one turned on one of the kids. Incredible why stupid people travel and with kids yet. There are signs all over that warn people about bringing food into the area because the monkeys will try to grab it and there are warnings that the monkeys are wild. It is a place to quietly enjoy unspoiled nature, not disrupt it.
Worth seeing in large to appreciate their eyes.
