Camp Leakey is a sanctuary for orangutans on the island of Borneo ( Kalimantan ). This is not a zoo, but a reserve where they can be protected. Sometimes you see the creatures and sometimes you don't as they go about their daily lives. My guide used to work for the foundation so he knew all of the orangutans by the names given to them by the men who have saved them from extinction.
