The Spirit of the World ( On and Off)
5) Serendipity
(Continuation of Story)
My final destination was Hikkaduwa. The tiny little village had become a large world famous destination. The water was still crystal clear and calm. Small waves lapped at the few rocks that lined the seashore. A few palm trees swayed in the balmy breeze. However, to see tropical jungles, one had to go to the very south of the island
I found myself still drawn to white sand beaches, the sun and the sparking blue green waters of the Indian Ocean. I renewed my love of the Indian Ocean and for years after, the body of water was the focus of my travel plans whether by land or by sea. In retrospect, however, another wide- reaching theme to all of my travels was still hidden from my consciousness.
