"You Should See Me Run"

Actually, the first cheetah that I saw running I couldn't see. The cheetah was too fast. The animal was a blur with a slight cloud of dust surrounding it. This magnificent big cat can run from 65 miles and hour to 75 miles per hour at top speed. Look at this magnificent body. It was designed for running.

I haven't really been lucky with my sightings of cheetahs even though I have been on numerous safaris. When I saw this cheetah and others in their coalition in Thorny Bush Private Reserve in Kruger National Park, I imagined there would be many more sightings through out Africa. I was wrong, but feel fortunate to have spent several evenings watching their coalition and observing their interactions.
