Our Daily Challenge ... fast. (Sorry ... not many comments over the last few days. My computer has had a melt down so I'm sharing at the moment. Hopefully it won't be long before it's fixed and I'll catch up.)
Breakfast is considered an important meal because it breaks the overnight fasting period, replenishes your supply of glucose and provides other essential nutrients to keep your energy levels up throughout the day.
Nutritional experts have referred to breakfast as the most important meal of the day, citing studies that find that people who skip breakfast are disproportionately likely to have problems with concentration, metabolism, and weight. In addition, children who skip breakfast may lack fibre and sufficient vitamins and minerals including iron, calcium, zinc and vitamin B2.
Breakfast foods vary widely from place to place, but often include a carbohydrate such as grains or cereals, fruit and/or vegetable, a protein food such as eggs, meat or fish, and a beverage such as tea, coffee or fruit juice.
