Learning to live in victory...

Why is it that I can know the truths of God's Word…that He is in control, that He has given me everything I need to walk through whatever comes before me and yet I can feel so defeated, like I can't rise up and stand in that victory. In Christ I have everything…EVERYTHING…He has defeated the enemy and he has no power over me. And yet I choose to give him power over me, I choose to let my feelings of defeat consume me instead of believing the truth…that I am free, that nothing that comes against me can separate me from God, nothing can destroy my spirit unless I let it. This world is fleeting but God is forever, He sees the big picture of life, He is my victory, He is my rock…yet why do I turn away from Him and try and do life my way. Why do I let the troubles of the day tear me apart…why do I curl up into a ball overwhelmed instead of reaching out to Him…my Saviour, my Redeemer, my Comforter…my God…the one who knows me best and cares for me most. This is not a plea for sympathy but a declaration of truth and a truth that I must grasp and walk out in order to get through the trials of this life and be an overcomer.
