Lime Kiln Siding 22-5-1978
A veritable time capsule at Lime Kiln Siding on the Western Valleys Line, between Park Junction and Aberbeeg. The GWR Type 3 box is in chocolate & cream colours, with the crossing still guarded by wooden gates flanked by two wonderful old lamps. The box opened in 1887 and a 29 lever vertical tappet frame was fitted latterly. Shortly after this picture, the gates were replaced by lifting barriers and the box painted a very drab grey colour. The end came on 14th December 1997.
