European historic gardens

This set will contain images from a multitude (currently some 300) of the most interesting european historic gardens, ranging from 16th century renaissance and manierist gardens to 17th and 18th century baroque and roccoco as well as romantic examples, with a few 19th and 20th century related specimens included.

My interest is focused on the architecture, structure, spatiality and narrative of these culturally eloquent layouts, rather than horticulture or botanics.

The gardens presented are located in Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, England, Scotland, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Holland, Poland, Sweden and Denmark.
