Enrosadira
A phenomenon, for which the Dolomites are well known is the alpine glow, known as “enrosadira”, which begins at dusk - or blue hour - when the red gleams of the setting sun colour the limestone, transforming the mountains into “the most beautiful architecture in the world”, at least that's what the French artist Le Corbusier called them.
The changing colours are due to the presence of calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate, minerals found in large quantities in the rocky walls of these magnificent mountains
