The Fort Meigs - Fort Wall
The Fort's wall was made from long timbers which extended several feet down and were more than head high above ground. After five were installed the sixth one was cut shorter to provide a firing space for the soldiers using musket rifles. The original Fort was built in 1813 and destroyed when it was vacated. The Fort was rebuilt by the Ohio Historical Society.
