Ranger Buttons

Sphenosciadium capitellum

So cute you want to eat them! But don’t. Ranger Buttons are toxic.

This has been a great season for ranger buttons. I often stop at the edge of a meadow near a junction of highways 88 and 89 for pictures or doggie potty breaks. The wildflowers, including ranger buttons, have been impressive this year. The flower in the foreground of most of the pictures is a corn lily, but I’ve included a shot of ranger buttons, too.
