Pink Labia Hats

True story: I thought the “pink pussy” hats promoted on the Sacramento Women’s March’s Facebook page were hats topped with knitted labias. The page offered free knitting patterns, but that sounded way too complicated for a non-knitter to tackle. (I did like the thought of a how such a hat could be personalized.) With no knitting skills and no time to buy a pussy hat, I just wore a simple, gray cap to the march.

As I approached the march’s start on Saturday morning, I was excited to see women ahead of me in pink hats. I sped up to check out their labias. I was confused that they seemed to be formless sacks, topped with two protrusions. They certainly didn’t look like any pussies I’d ever seen. That’s when I realized they were pink pussyCAT hats.
