Nothing but Flowers by The Talking Heads is about the end of the modern world. A time after we have self destructed - when there will be no more technology, skyscrapers or supermarkets. The world won't end of course but will revert to a simpler time. There will be nothing but the beauties of nature surrounding us. The point of the song is, that will suck too. An Ironic song just the way I like them. To top it off it plays in an upbeat samba style. This song is fitting also since the world is supposed to end this year...bummer.
