Duality

I saw this pair of ducks today that I have been noticing for a while. Always together, I am impressed by how loyal they are. They were milling about in the water, coming toward me, like they were looking for food. I went back to the house and grabbed some crackers, fully expecting them to be gone by the time I got back.

The ducks were still there and immediately went for my offering but trying a few nibbles, they rejected my crackers. What's wrong with these ducks, I distinctly remember feeding ducks bread and crackers as a kid. They were still there looking at me. I felt like I had disappointed the ducks that I had wanted to befriend. They seemed like they were sticking around so I said I would be back with something better.

I went back to the house wondering what the heck ducks eat, grabbed a piece of chicken out of the fridge and my camera. As I walked back to the water I glanced down at my camera and saw that I had a manual focus 24mm lens on it. Ugh, not the best setup for birding but I was not going back to the house again, my legs were getting tired.

When I got back to the ducks they were nowhere to be seen. I called to them and I can do pretty good duck call through my hand, no ducks. Bean who had followed me back and forth each time got rewarded with the duck's chicken. By then the sky had started to do something nice to the water and it turned out I did have the right lens on after all.
