hopeful doubt
A pinhole self portrait. I used the method in this tutorial to make a pinhole lens from a camera body cap.

The key is to make the pinhole as small as possible since that is what focuses the light. My first try was horribly blurry since what counts as a small pinhole to me was still too large and rough. I replaced the square of aluminum can with aluminum foil as it was easier to pierce and smooth the hole afterwards, but very fragile. This still isn't too sharp but hey, there's no lens. With the tiny pinhole/aperture the exposure has to be pretty long. This room was well lit and the exposure is 20 seconds. I think I did a good job of capturing my expression of hope that this would work mixed doubt that this would work.
