Collateral Damage

I had to replace my water heater yesterday, but little did I know that the plumbing wasn't up to code. There should be a horizontal metal bar going between studs, with the two 3/4" pieces of copper fastened to it, to support the piping where it goes through the wall. Because it wasn't supported, when I replaced the piping to the water heater, even though I was holding it with a wrench, it moved enough to cause a leak. You can see the new elbow and short piece of copper that had to be replaced to fix the resultant leak. The only positive thing for the day was my niece's husband, who helped me fix this problem, and get the water heater going. Thank you, Tony!
