1931 Italian Beauty, the Flying Star

Revisiting this extraordinary 1931 Alfa that wreaks of class and sensuous charm. I have always thought that this 1750 6C Alfa Romeo with gorgeous lines (body by Touring of Milan) and built specifically for the Concours at Villa d'Este, where the unique double fender sweeps caused a sensation, and still does today.

Named the Flying Star, it took the over all top prize at that Concours, and numerous others over the years. Mixing supreme beauty with supreme engineering as this began the era of Alfa dominance at Le Mans.
