1939 Alfa Romeo on Hiway 1
Alfa 6 C 2500 Coupe by Carrozzeria TOURING. At speed on Hiway 1, prior to the 2015 Pebble Beach Concours. RHD and gorgeously aerodynamic. It was built in Modena under the direction of Enzo Ferrari, who had directed Alfa Romeo racing for years (you will see the Ferrari 'prancing horse' on racing Alfas throughout the 30s), It’s a racecar underneath. It’s configured inside for the 1940 Mille Miglia, so its got all the racing gear; engine, suspension and it has a Lusso body. Its also the first or second Alfa in the world to have a radio in it. From an era where you could buy a car, drive it off the lot, straight to the track, with expectation of serious possibility of winning (depending on your driving skills (craziness helped). This car won it's class.
