The Gods Have Smiled
With storms approaching from the west, I got out to shoot a general rarity; a coal empty bound for the KP. Making things better, it had a CN SD70M-2 on the point, as opposed to the typical UP junk! Yes. Yes, I will absolutely go out to photograph this!
After having shot it first at Topeka's Calhoun Bluffs, I photographed the CN 8878 leading the CMSEY9 01 on the west side of Silver Lake at 16:38. Typically, I get skunked on this shot because I get greedy at Menoken, but today, I planned to get this shot, and I'm happy that I did. The clouds even held off. Sometimes, the Railfan Gods play nicely.
