(Mini) Chase-worthy
While I was at work the other day, I spotted out of the corner of my eye what I thought was an H1 leader on the BNSF, so with some "free" time at the moment, I gave chase to the nearest location with decent sun for an eastbound.
Sure enough, I ended up at Topeka's Croco Rd. crossing, which is MP 49.72 on the BNSF Topeka Sub, and it WAS an H1 Dash-9 on the point! Here, we've got the BNSF 1080 leading the V-SAGNSI3 25A.
These were the very first units to be delivered from the factory in BNSF paint, with 163 units coming in the '96 & '97 deliveries. Since then, at least five are off the roster, a number have been repainted, and even more are stored less than a mile from this location in the East Field. As these units approach 30(!!!) years old, the time is now to photograph them.
