GTW SD40-2 in Kansas
Your eyes don't deceive you! GTW 5937 made its way onto UP's LMC40, and here's a shot that I got of them working within the ICL plant on Lawrence, KS' east side. This plant is the main source of traffic for this local out of Topeka, and includes copious amounts of in-plant switching. Unfortunately, the crew would tie the train down in Lawrence on this day, thwarting our plans to chase it back to Topeka.
For the record, this non-dynamic 40-2 was built in 1975 as the MP 3196, so it's very likely spent plenty of time in the Sunflower State in the past.
