Hearing this on the radio Wednesday afternoon, and knowing that there was another KCS unit parked next to the main in Topeka, I knew that I had to get this shot, regardless of the weather. As an added bonus, the platform did its job, and kept me respectably dry as I waited!
On the left, the KCS 4851 had come into town on the LRT coal train, while the 4604 is leading the Q-ROBCHI6 21A. The ROBCHI is an intermodal train from the KCS in Robstown, TX, which is a suburb of Corpus Christi. Along its way to Chicago, it also does work in Alliance, TX.
It's not every day that one gets to shoot side-by-side KCS units, especially off of the KCS main, so I was happy to wait this one out. #GTS
