Lawrence Local at Sunset
UP ES44AC no. 5467 leads the LMC40 back to Topeka from Lawrence on January 22nd. This is at MP 65 on the Kansas Sub, which is just west of Calhoun Bluffs, and along the Kansas River levee. I can't imagine how fun it is to run this thing backwards for the 30 mile trip back home.
Interestingly, the unit is equipped with removable ditch lights on this end, which allows them to run at track speed. However, as was pointed out the first time I posted a shot like this, these lights apparently burn out easily, as is nicely demonstrated here.
