Joseph Lister

Lord Lister (1827-1912) is renowned for his pioneering work in Glasgow Royal Infirmary on antisepsis. Portrayed seated, perhaps because for eight years he had occupied the chair of the Regius Professorship of Surgery at Glasgow University
