MPRLP is using funds leveraged from other government schemes and programmes to help villagers in Madhya Pradesh build and maintain their own biogas plants. This simple technology catches the methane produced from decomposing cow dung and provides gas for cooking, along with a nutrient-rich slurry that makes an excellent fertilizer for crops.
