Dervish Guest House from outside

World Mevlana Foundation has been established to contribute more effectively to The Mevlevi Order and its teaching. The main objective is to foster teaching of the great Sufi Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi, his works, sema, sufism and sufi music.

To achieve this, the Foundation provides health, education and cultural services and activities. These are based on the teaching and works of Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi, and currently include:

- Sufi music, prayer and Sema sessions (a tradition for more than 800 years)

- Lessons and classes on Sufism, the Mathnawi (one of Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi’s major works) and Sema (understanding the rituals and learning the “whirling”)

- Cooking and distributing wholesome homemade meals to poor families in our community (currently meals are cooked in our purpose-built kitchen and distributed by minibus every other day, free of charge)

- Accommodation for travellers at the Dervish Guest House in central Konya, which is serving guests from all around the world

The purpose of opening the Dervish Guest House was to provide income to support our other community services, in particular the provision of meals.

It is situated in the heart of Konya, only 70 metres away from the Mevlana Museum. Our Guest House bedrooms are simply furnished with a total of 10 rooms (21 guest maximum occupancy). They have central heating, 24 hour hot water, wireless internet connection, nightstand, wardrobe, and bathroom (with hand-basin, toilet and shower; 2 rooms share a common bathroom). A view of the Mevlana Museum is a feature of 2 bedrooms. Rates are inclusive of breakfast which is served in the dining room. (Note: The Dervish Guest House has an approved fire alarm system).
