I do love many of the quirky and daily life shots of Nadja, and I was also tempted by the Holiday pictures. But in the end I had to go with this outstanding hummingbird shot. The pop of colour helps him stand out from that cool background, and I amazed with the focus on this fast moving flier.

I was also tempted by many of Nancy's sand dune pictures, but chose this one for the story that it tells. The people add such a sense of scale and danger (I want to yell at the one on the right to back up from the edge- but that may just be the parent in me). The light, shadow and depth are all great too. Perfect shot.

Mary found just the perfectly photogenic grove of pines to shoot. Nicely spaced, but not rigidly geometric like a replanted forest. And then the light worked perfectly. Top it off with the slight blur from ICM and shades of green and brown. A beautiful and slightly abstract image.

Karen always has such beautiful images of her very photogenic pups and ponies. I chose this one as it clearly stood out from the rest. A delightfully grungy image perfectly processed. And for some reason I think the slightly out of focus bell around Tasky's neck finishes the shot perfectly by adding in just a touch of bling.

Stefanie is always a tough one to choose from, so many creative and inspired shots. I went with this one because of how well framed it is and how well all of the lines work together. Then add in the posture of the person on the top floor with his many reflections in the right-sided windows and it is a wonderful moment too. I would love to see this one printed large.

Liz has such a wonderful photo stream with many perfectly focused, framed and processed shots in it. I'm also jealous of how well behaved her pups always seem in photos. I did choose this one because it is a bit different from her usual with the wide format crop and glorious light making the overall image soft and inviting. It would look so good on a large canvas.
