Dung Beetle Stretching Wings

The dung beetles are vital for the cleanliness of the ecosystem. They also play a vital role in returning the nutrients to the soil. Therefore, they hold the key to the completion of many chemical cycles properly.

No wonder the Egyptians realized their vital role, placed them equal to Gods and worshiped the Scarab beetles as Khepri, the human bodied God with the head of a Scarab Beetle!

By the way, Khepri is the God of creation, movement of the sun and rebirth! Apt one, since the reinstatement of nutrients ensure creation of future crops in the soil, as well as rebirth of life from the poop and the dead!
