VW Polo SEL 1.2 TSi
My sister's current car, purchased in 2013 and replacement for the black Polo. A great little car this and usefully quick too.
Here's the story of how it came to us:
Regular's to my 'stream may remember a certain black Polo 1.9 TDi Sport making a few appearances last year, as I documented the light renovation work I carried out to tidy up its general appearance.
That car is my sister's and she recently decided the time was right to choose a replacement. After testing a current Polo 1.6 TDi which she described as 'too slow', I suggested she look at a petrol 1.2 TSi instead.
After convincing her that it wasn't a 'normal' 1.2 petrol and that it would actually feel quite quick, she took a couple of test drives and decided that a 1.2 TSi was what she wanted.
Then the tricky bit began... finding a suitably tidy used 1.2 TSi in the specific spec and colour she wanted. She narrowed it down to 4 (in the country!), the nearest of which was in Newcastle.
Getting wind of the fact that I'm working in Newcastle quite a bit at the moment, she asked if I'd go and look at the Newcastle Polo. After looking over the car, taking it for a test run and establishing that it had recently been serviced I reported back that this one was worth her while coming to view.
On arriving back home I discovered a text on my phone from my sister saying she'd been in touch with the dealer and had bought it...
She picks it up today, so I hope she's pleased with it. If it breaks down, then I might have to skip the country!
