Cake pop stand

I am so excited about the cake pop stands I made today I had to post a picture of one. My daughter has a GS function on Monday and I am making cake pops. I looked on-line for cake pop stands and didn't really find anything I liked. The only halfway decent one was way too much money.

So, I made a trip to the craft store and made my own. I had a 50% off coupon so for 10 bucks I got 3, 12 inch square blocks of styrofoam. The other supplies I had.

I covered each block top, bottom and sides with 1/4 inch foam board to try to make it a bit sturdier. I used one foam board per stand and had picked those up for $1. each at the dollar store awhile back( I knew they would come in handy for something at somepoint!,) And my husband wonders why I always come home with things "I don't need", LOL.

Anyway, I glued the foam board pieces on with my hot glue gun. The top piece was covered with white fanci foil first. I then glued that piece on with just a dot of glue in each corner. I figure that will make it easier to slip my exacto under each corner to remove it if I need to replace the fanci foil at some point. I used a wide white ribbon all the way around the stand and it can easily be removed if I want to change out the color for something different. I figure I can tailor the stand to whatever function my kids are having by either putting a pretty ribbon around it or printing on cardstock on the computer like I did for this one. I adhered the Congratulations on the front with double sided tape so it can easily be taken off and replaced with another one. The tag to indicate what flavor the pops are was just glued to a bamboo skewer. I did one for the chocolate pops and one for the vanilla pops. I am really excited to have this to spruce up for things at my kids school and parties etc. Will post a picture with all the pops when they are done.
