Separator

At an eastern Washington dairy farm, a separating machine stands adjacent to a storage lagoon. The separator extracts solid material from cow manure for use as fertilizer or compost. Liquid waste is stored in the lagoon for use as fertilizer. By law, no discharges of contaminated waste water from the farm are permitted.
