"Gay Teen Angst"

While sheltering in place I've had time to dig out some things from the past. This is the first and last sculpture I've done. I call it "Gay Teen Angst". Sculpted it my junior year of high school. I know all teens suffer from angst but in the 60's/70's it was particularly hard for this catholic, closeted, gay, football player. Luckily or unluckily after almost four years of high school celibacy I met a comrade in arms and while still in the closet life became tolerable and less filled with dogma guilt. The sculpt was a art class assignment done the night before it was due. Like they say in art "do what you know". The only reason I still have it is because my buddy Kevin Arduini liked and wanted it so I gave it to him. He kept it safe all these years (40) until finally returning it to me about 6 years ago. Glad I'm past those days of angst and glad the LGBT youth of today can live a more open life. :-)
