Han Solo and Chewbacca plant explosives on the support columns within Starkiller Base's thermal oscillator. Han then sees Kylo Ren and chooses to confront him. He shouts out "Ben!" - his son's real name - and walks across a bridge to meet him. Ben removes his mask and confesses that he is being torn apart and needs his father to help. Han tries to take his son's outstretched lightsaber, but Ben activates it, killing his father. Chewbacca roars in anguish and blasts Ren and the nearby Stormtroopers. Finn and Rey are also witness to this monstrous act.
