Sleepy Sparrow - Great River, New York (Explored)
I took this unusual shot in my mother-in-law's backyard last summer. At first glance, it shows a sparrow taking a nap. I had tracked the progress of this sparrow in the tree when suddenly it stretched out on a branch and took a rest for several minutes. I can assure you that the bird was alive when I took the shot because it stood up and flew away. This shot has not been altered or contrived. If anyone has come across this behavior, please let me know. The photo was taken in September 2011, with my trusty Oympus digital camera. Enjoy.
