Chateau Pichon Baron - Pauillac, France
I photographed this fine chateau as I sailed down the Gironde River. The chateau is situated on the left bank near Pauillac. Originally, this chateau was part of a larger wine estate owned by Pierre de Rauzan and the Comtesse de Lalande. In 1850, the estate was divided in two. Baron Raoul Pichon took possession of the property shown in the photo. Construction of the chateau started in 1851. The formal title of the property is Chateau Longueville au Baron de Pichon-Longueville. Today, the vineyards produce Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc grapes. The photo was taken in September 2025, with my trusty Olympus digital camera. Enjoy.
